Educational Requirements*
A high school diploma or equivalent, college science courses which include anatomy, physiology, and microbiology, in order to be accepted into a formal, academically accredited physician assistant program.
As a minimum, academic physician assistant programs require two years of collegiate-level study in health care, biology, English, chemistry, math, psychology, and social sciences. Many programs end with an Associate's Degree although some colleges offer Bachelor's and Master's Degree programs. All physician assistant programs include extensive supervised clinical training.
