Paramedic Schools - Health and Medical Professions
EMT-Paramedics work under the direction of a physician, often through radio communication, in order to provide advanced life support to acutely injured patients in pre-hospital care settings. Types of emergency treatment may include providing emergency airways, starting IV's, administering medications, reading EKG's, & use of an electronic defibrillator. Paramedics must be able to recognize, assess, and manage medical emergencies under medical direction. Paramedics must also record in writing or dictate the details related to the patient's emergency care and the incident.
